Helpful HintsQuick Books Pro 2001 Installation on Windows XP Here are four easy steps to solve the online Quick Books Update issue using Windows XP 1. Uninstall Quick Books. Be sure to backup your data first!!! 2. Sign On the internet and go to the Windows Update Page at www.windowsupdate.microsoft.com 3. Download all the critical and recommended updates for Windows XP. MS Java is not preinstalled with the new version of Windows and these updates will install the required files. (This Java file is crucial to installing Quick Books with Windows XP.) 4. Using Windows Explorer, create a new folder and name it QB Install and copy the Quick Books CD to this new folder on your hard drive. Launch setup from the QB Install folder and ignore any errors reported of Internet Explorer 5.5 install failure. When Quick Books installation is completed, restart your computer, launch Quick Books, restore your data and the online updates should work normally. Note: If you get an error that your company data is from a newer version of Quick Books, open one of the Quick Books Sample Companies to get your online Quick Books updates. |
